I love to sing, but I am tone deaf so I don’t sing in public, especially at church. One day when I was singing very quietly in a worship service, lest anyone hear me, I said I wish I could just sing praise to you from my heart without this really aweful voice. Jesus said to me, If I wanted a perfect song I could just snap my fingers and beckon an angel to sing for Me. I want to hear your voice, Don’t you know I love you, I love it when you sing to Me, I love hearing your voice.
When my oldest child was 2 I used to let her wash dishes with me in the evenings before she went to bed. I would fill the sink with warm soapy water and pull a chair up and let her wash the dishes, we had such fun. I just loved doing that. When she went to bed I would rewash the dishes, still feeling the joy of spending that time with her laughing.
During that time Jesus was teaching me some things about spiritual warfare and I was praying against darkness, battling spiritual principalities and powers. I got a bit awed and said I don’t know if im doing this right, it is such serious business, Lord have someone else do it. He said to me: I always wash the dishes again after my children go to bed if I need to, I just enjoy your company so much.
A bit after that we watched the Lion King movie. I just love Whoopie Goldberg. In a scene the pack of hyenas are chasing the little lion, about to eat him. He suddenly finds some courage and turns and lets out the most pathetic roar a little lion can make. The hyenas screech to a stop and turn and flee. The little lion smiles at himself and turns to leave and sees that his Father, the Lion King, is standing behind him.
I had a friend who was a prophet and I was impressed. She got downhearted and worried after awhile though, because there is a lot of responsibility that goes with being a prophet. It is serious business. In the old testament it talks about people that prophesied wrong, causing God’s people to err. It says:
Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall… Jer 23:15
in the new testament it says:
And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, 34 They gave him vinegar to drink
mingled with gall… 35 And they crucified him Matt 27:33-35
Jesus said to His disciples, fear not little flock it is your fathers good pleasure to give you the kingdom. He delights when we step out in faith, even in our imperfections.
God is able to make all grace abound to you:
And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house. 27 But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
Ezek 3:26-27
He really can do that, I prayed for Him to do it with me because sometimes it is so hard to keep my mouth closed. One day I saw this person and was sure I had a word from the Lord for him, I began to speak and out came gla;dfsja’ it was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing.
Here is an example of how God and Jesus are that I love…
And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables. Ex 32:15-16
And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses’ anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. 20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it. Ex 32:19-20
He threw down and broke the two tables written by THE FINGER OF GOD!!!
And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. Ex 33:9
and it says:
And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. Ex 33:11
And the Lord said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. 2 And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai.. Ex 34:1-2
The Lord didn’t get mad at moses, He just made new tablets.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
here is the story of Peter learning to walk on water:
But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Matt 14:27-32
later on the sea side when Jesus appeared to them after the resurrection:
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea. 8 And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes. 9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. 10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught. 11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. 12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. John 21:7-12
I would have said: Peter! you’re not even trying! go back and walk in! Keep working at it till you can walk on water!
Jesus said, “come and dine…”
I listen to the bible on cd sometimes, and the guy that reads it is sometimes kind of starchy and stern and sometimes I forget that it is not what Jesus sounds like.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:5

Jesus said of Himself:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matt 11:28-30
And it was prophesied of Him: That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, Luke 1:74
maybe Jesus was smiling when He said:
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. Matt 8:25-26
maybe He was smiling because He knew it would amaze them.
Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. John 5:19-20
God doesn’t want servants, He wants sons and daughters.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. 16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Isaiah 49:15-16
They nailed His hands to the cross, what an engraving, what Love!
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. John 16:27
Here are some scriptures I found about the incredible Love of the Father:
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. Isaiah 66:13
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. Isaiah 63:9
Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained? Doubtless thou art our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O LORD, art our father, our redeemer; thy name is from everlasting. Isaiah 63:15-16
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. 6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Psalms 68:5-6
For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Prov 3:12
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. Psalms 103:13-14
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. Rev 7:17
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:15
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Gal 4:5-7
